TD-SCDMA is gaining substantial momentum in China. More and more domestic and international companies are joining this industrial chain to create a mature multi-vendor situation. From the government side the development gets strong support by means of the allocation of spectrum, the setting up of industrial alliances，the supplying of subsidies to industries, and organizing comprehensive testing to speed up implementation. TD-SCDMA with its unique 3G TDD capabilities will become an increasingly important 3G standard in China.

The home-grown standard, with mainly China owned IPR, will enable domestic industries to strengthen their Telecom activities, and become more competitive in the international mobile market.
