April 28 2008-----Samsung
Electronics has donated 15,000 units of TD-SCDMA handsets to
the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX
Olympiad (BOCOG). This TD-SCDMA handset is based on T3G7208
dual mode terminal system solution, which can support 384Kbps
data transmission rates and other 3G featured services like
video telephony, MBMS, GPS and video conference.
With this donation, officers and employees from BOCOG could
use Samsung branded TD-SCDMA handsets to enjoy various 3G
services offered by China¡¯s home-grown 3G standard, which
includes PoC, Olympic dynamic contents distribution service,
Olympic MBMS, VOD, multimedia CRBT, web browsing and other TD
featured services. All of these will bring a more convenient,
intuitionistic and instant means to obtain Olympic
competitions information and Olympic express.
T3G7208 automatic dual mode terminal system solution adopted
T3G independently developed modem IC TD60186 which complies
with 3GPP R4 standard with powerful capability to handle all
TD-SCDMA physical layer signal processing tasks. TD60186,
embedded low power RD16024S0 DSP core, is the necessary core
chip for TD-SCDMA handset product. It has flexible RF
interface which can support different RF and analog modem IC
solutions. T3G7208 platform can support personal information
management, camera, video recording, MMS, video streaming
playback, video telephony and other 3G applications. Further
more, this platform has won the leading product award at the
EDN China Innovation Awards 2007. Besides Samsung, other
foreign and domestic leading handset vendors¡¯ commercialized
TD-SCDMA terminals based on T3G7208 platform have also got MII
issued network access licenses.
